Abraham Fofana-Deadly ULIMO-K Killer Surfaces in The Netherlands

It is often said that one can run as long but often get caught up with their past. This is true about a deadly ULIMO-K fighter, Abraham Fofana, who participated in the massacre of tens of civilians in
Belle Fassama (then Lofa County), and now part of Gbarpolu County. Abraham Fofana, notoriously known for his savagery as “Knife Will Talk”, has surfaced in The Netherlands.

According to his kinsmen, who identified him as a brutal killer who now bent on destroying other Mandingos to prove himself a clean man, led many deadly missions with ULIMO-K general Jungle Jabbah, who is himself was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the United States for lying on his immigration paperwork that he was never associated with any rebel or armed militia group.

Liberians in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, have disclosed that Abraham Fofana presents himself as an advocate so as to deceive the Netherlands government to forestall any investigation into his brutal activities in Liberia.

Kosia M, a fellow Mandingo, alleged, “Ab was one of those fighters who destroyed the Mandingo people’s name. He and others were on killing spree, despite orders from the ULIMO command for soldiers to stop kill civilians.”

He claimed that Abraham Fofana, Jungle Jabbah, and others were eating human hearts. Abraham admitted living in Lofa County before the war. And when the war started, he was one of those fighters who took his colleagues to people homes and extracted money, and they refused, Ab and others would kill them.

One Liberian in The Netherlands said Ab once told him, “Right now nobody knows me to be a fighter that is why I will continue to advocate.”

Investigation continues.

Too Dull To Be Journalist

—The Case of Mike Jabateh

One reporter who entered my newsroom empty-head and left dull and incompetent during the period
2003 to 2006 was Mike Jabateh. He was one of seven young reporters coming right out of high school that I trained.

They were recruited the same time. In the picture below I have selected just five of the seven, including Mike to make a point.

1) Jamesetta Horace: She developed so fast that Morris Dukuly took her away from me after two years. Today Jamesetta is in the United States doing well.

2) Nathaniel Daygbor: This is one of the reporters who followed the lead and instructions and today he a big journalist in our country, and one of the leaders of the reporters in Liberia. He has written his name in the annals of journalism.

3) Ora Garway: This reporter defied all odds, learned well and became media manager later.

4) Fred Mills: This reporter covered several beats and rose to work for UNMIL media department and now lives a dignified life.

5) Mike Jabateh: This reporter was so dull, he learned nothing, he ran away from Analyst and went to another newspaper. The dropped him. He came back to me and I still continued training him.

Today, Mike Jabateh cannot work in any newsroom because he still does not know how to write the lead paragraph of a story. So He is on Facebook speaking English-mixed-with Mandingo insulting everyone he disagrees with.

Mike which one of these reporters you write better than?

Watch out for part two.

Martin Kollie: Bereft of Moral Compass, Swimming With Criminals

Martin Kollie - a kid sandwiched by greedy politicians

Part IV
For an evening dose, let’s dissect the first two paragraphs of Martin Kollie's garbage in his second part article. Martin set up charges for me to respond to. Before I address his so-called charges, I should like to educate Martin on his demand for me to tell President Weah to publish his asset. Perhaps, Martin and others are just lazy opposition bag boys. If the assets of President Weah is that important to them, they have three things to do:
      A)    They should go to the GAC and request it. If the GAC refuses,
      B)    They should go to the LACC and request it. If the LACC refuses,
      C)    They should go to court and obtain a court order to obtain the asset.
There is nowhere in the Act creating Conflict of Interest that mandates the asset declarer to publish it in newspapers or read it on radio or show it on the TV. The responsibility to get a copy of the asset lies with the individual or group that wants it. So, I don’t see why these people would not find a lawyer and proceed to the court and test the system. They don’t really want the President’s asset. They simply want to make noise about it and gain relevance out of it.

Having said that, let me now deal with Martin Kollie’s charges against me:
      1)      Racketeering and Puppeteering: First, let’s define the two words.
Racketeering - a crime of extortion or coercion. A racketeer attempts to obtain money or property from another person, usually through intimidation or force. Let me ask, who did I extort money from? What is the evidence of extortion? As far as Martin is concerned, any charge can be levied. If Martin were police director, what would happen to the common people? I guess he will levy any charges once it occurs to his mind.
Puppeteering - a person who manipulates an inanimate object that might be shaped like a human. Can you imagine Martin charged me with such a crime because he thinks I manipulated inanimate (non-movable) object, say a statute! What is this so-called UL senior talking about? What kind book these boys are learning at the UL?

      2)      Extortion and Blackmailing:
Extortion – a crime of obtaining money from people by force or threat. What is Martin’s understanding of racketeering and extortion? Both are the same. My legal understanding of the words, extortion is the element of the racketeering. But for Martin, both are separable. That is the very educated and intelligent man. No wonder he has stayed too long at the University of Liberia.
Blackmailing - A crime of demand for money or benefit from someone in return for compromise. It is unfathomable that Martin thinks I am demanding money from someone to compromise something. By the way, who am I blackmailing or demanding money from for compromise? Is it him? Or is it President Weah for whom I am paid agent? What kind of learning those guys are doing at the University of Liberia. Martin muddied the name of the UL that I so much respect.
      3)      Bootlicking and Carpetbagging:
Bootlicking - An allegation that I try to gain favor by submissive or sycophantic manner. Martin believes I am submissive or sycophantic to President Weah to gain favor from the President. This is rather an overblown accusation that has no iota of proof. I have never met Weah Since I have been in the US almost 13 years now. I traveled to Liberia twice and never came close to the President. I have never solicited money, job or anything. I have critiqued the government several times and will still do so without fear of favor. But that is what Liberians do. When you agree with them, you are a patriotic. When you disagree with things they say about government, you are unpatriotic, paid agent, sycophant, etc. When you say or do nothing, you are coward. This is the MO of most lazy activists, advocates and politicians in Liberia. They criticize daily and expect those they criticize to be tolerant. But when you criticize them, they are angry, not tolerant and they become very rash and belligerent.
Carpetbagging - seeking political election in an area where one has no local connections. Can you imagine this other charge! Martin actually is alleging that I am seeking political election where I have no local connections. Are you kidding me! Does this kid think before he writes or is it how he got his little education? Why do these folks destroy the image of the UL daily? I am saddened.

Martin Kollie thinks by being verbose makes him a smart person. He writes plenty words, some of which he does not understand. And guess what…his followers herald him for that. In fact, they say he is destroying me already. They do not even understand what Martin is writing, but they convince themselves that it is okay…Sad!

Watch out for part V…

Martin Kollie: No Respect For Facts, Pandering Exaggeration

Martin Kollie - A pathological liar

Part III
I had rather delve right into part three, but I am tempted to pointing out a major flaw with some Liberian students. This is the headline of Martin Kollie’s second part article:

“The Jettison of a Career Rascal Blustering in Amnesia and Notoriety – Sexagenarian Gibson W. Jerue Under The Guillotine...”

Let’s synthesize this headline for a moment. Martin meant to tell his readers that I am a “jettison” (drop from an aircraft or ship), that I am a career rascal blustering in amnesia (career rascal ‘loud mouth’ in forgetfulness and famous for bad thing), and he assume I am a sexagenarian (60 to 69 years old) and I am under the guillotine (a notorious killing machine of the French revolution). What the heck is the senior student of the UL writing! No wonder why these students leave the walls of the university and cannot land a job. What the heck is career rascal loud mouth in “forgetfulness”! I see why some folks keep telling me he does not worth my time. But let’s return to the issues here.

This is the exaggerated falsehood that Martin wrote in shed ignorance that I rebutted to. This is Martin Kollie kind of facts:
The Facts you do not know. 1. George Weah spent US$2 million of our tax-dollars to build a military hospital. He named the hospital after his football jersey (#14) even though he didn't spend a dime of his own money to construct it. 2. Didier Drogba spent US$5 million of his own football money to build 5 of this hospital in green color. He did not name this hospital after himself or his jersey number even though he spent his own money.”
Now, let’s dissect his so-called facts. The central argument of Martin here is that Weah put his Jersey number on a publicly funded structure solely to take undue credit. For Martin, since Didier Drogba did not put his name on his hospitals, Weah cannot. I was blown away by the shed unfamiliarity displayed here. In my comment to debunk Martin, I reminded him that William VS Tubman named the Tubman high school after him although it was built with public funds. Samuel Doe named the SKD Complex after him although it was built with public funds. And to add, the Tubman boulevard was named after our 18th President although it was constructed with public money. So, what is the issue that Martin tries to highlight?

In my estimation, Martin Kollie failed the student community, as he has done several times. He has no respect for due diligence to ensure that information he puts out there are correct. He exaggerates his claims. He lies to make his point and gain attention, and portends himself a serious activist. He lacks the credibility a student activist needs to stand in the gap as a moral voice. But why do we go to school for – to write and speak differently from people who are not trained to make factual and data-drive assertions.

I thought Martin was a senior student at the University of Liberia. At that university, don’t they teach students how to do research, make data-driven assertions and conclusions? Is it not what social science is all about? How could Martin wake up in the morning, grab his smart phone and publish garbage just to deceive the public and create a publicity stunt for himself in the name of advocating for the masses of our people? Is this what is being taught at the UL? I bet not. But Martin and his likes are the kind of students who leave the walls of the university and misrepresent it. I would not be surprised Martin would find it very difficult to assimilate into the labor market. Like I said elsewhere, when I was at Martin’s age, I was already a News Editor and already winning awards. During that same time, I was heading one of the influential committees of the Press Union of Liberia – the Press Club.

Instead of Martin priding himself with falsehood, exaggerated propaganda and ambiguities, he should calculate his actions, research and focus on what would move him from his current mediocre lifestyle.

Watch out for part IV.

Martin Kollie: Bereft of Moral Compass, Swimming With Criminals

Part II
The reckless, erratic and irrational leader of the UL Student Unification Party (SUP), Martin Kollie professes to be a moral purest. He badmouths all who disagree with him, often caricaturing them in ways and manner he deems most disparaging, denigrating and demeaning. He portends himself to be speaking for the masses of our people. Martin is supposed to be the voice of reasoning. Everyone else is corrupt; everyone is a criminal; everyone is a national thieve. When you disagree with him, you are a paid agent, media mafia, CDCian, Weah supporter, even if his allegations found no premise. In fact, Martin seems to fix an eagle’s eye on corruption, graft, misuse of public funds and properties, national looting and other wanton crimes that cascade the kind of problems our people face today. Nice!

But don’t be deceived. Martin is no different from the rest. When he thinks of his impoverished life, drowning in liquor bottles checking all bars, they blame everyone for their miseries. But how could Martin ever think of being a serious student activist when he is swimming with very huge swamp creatures, the economic criminal vampires, the likes of who we have not seen before. Think how Martin and his buddies herald and intermingle with the very criminals situated in the Council of Patriots as advisors of Martin and others.

Take a minute to think about it…how could a student activist and his group even think of coming close to corrupt individuals like Oscar Cooper, the General Manager of the Inland Logging Company, who pillaged our natural resources, forest, and commandeered the resources for himself. This is one of Martin’s advisors, his role model he takes counsel from to tell Weah and his administration ‘you are too corrupt’. Think about a corrupt and murderous man like Senator Sando Johnson. Like Oscar, Sando was recommended for prosecution by the TRC for his acts of wanton killing and destruction. How about the man who siphoned thousands, perhaps millions from the Liberian Maritime program – Benoni Urey. Martin is comfortable sitting with these national thieves and taking suggestions from them about another individual being corrupt. Think about another murderous individual, Rep. Yekeh Kolubah, who conscripted tens of students and young people during the LURD and MODEL wars. Martin feels justified working with a man who rushed countless number of students to their graves. I wonder how Martin sees Cooper, Johnson, Urey and Kolubah are different from those he accuses daily of corruption! What else could this be if it is not poor judgment from a unwise student leader is simply one eye leading the rest of the blind.

Show me your friend and I will tell you his character, they say. No one has to think hard that Martin is a protégé of these criminal gangs. What reasoning could abide why Martin feels particularly glued to them, attending meetings with them, taking advice from them, and taking their money? It is often said that those who speak of equity must come with clean hands. Does Martin Kollie have one? How does he justify his intermingling with people who were recommended for prosecution for the gravamen of evil they meted against our common patrimony? Martin does not have the moral compass to excuse himself from the crimes of yesteryear, committed by viciously greedy, and egocentrically wicked people. I get it, Martin is hungry and he will look for food no matter wherever it comes, even coming from people who should be standing trial for the criminal acts against the nation. How come Martin has never voiced out his concern about the presence of those economic and war criminals serving as advisors of the Council of Patriots?

Watch out for part III.

Note: I am not going to respond to Martin Kollie describing me as paid agent, media mafia, Weah supporter, belly-driven, and other characterizations. He will do this throughout this exchange.
