Inside
sources at the Liberia National Police and NSA have hinted me that at least 24
men, all of them Grand Gedeans or members of the Krahn tribe from Kparblee
District in Nimba County, may be arrested in the coming days or weeks or
months. There was no specific time pinpointed by our sources as to when the
arrests will take place.
According
our sources who are second and third level personnel of the NSA and the Police disclosed
that after nearly five hours of grilling Oforie Diah, the security authorities
are claiming that Mr. Diah confessed to them the names of 24 people who were
accused of being involved in the Ivorian crisis.
Some
of those expected to be arrested include Junior Yormie, Edward Gbor, “Garang”
of MODEL, Junior Tarley, John Youboty, Abednego Zweh, and all those who were
given clearance recently, among others. Our NSA agent source said, “The reason
they charged Oforie Diah was because he refused to call any names, after they
offered to release him if he named those connected with the Ivory Coast
fighting…”
It can be recalled that the NSA offered to give
Mr. Andrew Dorbor some money, “set him up with $10,000 USD” and promised to
release him if he implicated Charle Julu (the late) in 2007, but Mr. Dorbor
refused and he was charged with Treason.
If
the government carries out it plans, there will be well over two dozens of
Grand Gedeans locked up behind bars during the Sirleaf Administration in
Liberia. The Ellen Sirleaf administration has already broken the record of
arresting and detaining the largest number of people from one ethnic group. Currently,
there are nine (9) Grand Gedeans locked up awaiting trial for crimes ranging
from murder to criminal facilitation.
We
are watching developments and will inform you as we get them.
